Security System Technician

Imperial Surveillance, Inc. - Illinois - Imperial Surveillance, is looking for several Security System Technicians for our cyber-security business. One of Imperial’s core values is Never Stop Learning. We push our staff to complete certifications on a bi-annual basis. We will reimburse the cost of certification exams upon successful completion. This job entails building the infrastructure of all wired networks, such as Local Area Networks (LANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs). They must be willing to work overtime and be ready to travel as the need arises. Technicians must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing about 30 lbs often. At times, they may have to lift heavier equipment. Additionally, they should be able to work in small spaces and at varying heights and be required to climb ladders. Candidates MUST complete the screening requirements to be eligible for consideration. (Phone Interview at submission and any others requested through the process). Requirements Install security surveillance, door access, and alarm systems Pull, route, and label CAT5 or CAT6 cable Install support structure including cable racks, j-hooks, and other related structures Conduct thorough inspections of network cabling to ensure the system is working Test and troubleshoot issues with network communication Mount telecom equipment while adhering to best practices, industry standards, and manufacturer requirements Aid in arranging routers, hubs, install support structures, including racks, ladders, and j-hooks, and switches using data provided by all teams within the organization Install access control systems and surveillance cameras Maintain good relations with clients by listening to and then sorting out their issues or escalating to your manager Troubleshoot attendant cabling AV issues, install IP devices, terminate phone jacks and distribution frame Establish and troubleshoot video, audio, and IP networks Manage and maintain exact inventory for parts, tools, and supplies Provide the organization’s sales team material and labor estimates Maintain a timely and accurate database of service tickets Document all work completed or resolutions for a client Benefits Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications Medical, Dental and Vision insurance Company Paid Term life insurance policy for $25,000 401K plan Paid Holidays Paid Vacation 5 Sick days Professional development assistance... - Permanent - Full-time
