Food Service Technician I

SOUTHEASTERN VIRGINIA TRAINING - Chesapeake, VA - Southeastern Virginia Training Center (SEVTC) is looking to hire qualified Food Service Technician I for its Food Service Department. This position is considered essential personnel at a healthcare facility. SEVTC is an Intermediate Care Facility which serves individuals with ID/DD in a residential setting providing a broad range of medical and nursing care, clinical treatment, habilitation, and community integration opportunities. The incumbent in this role will: Position will assist in the preparation of raw foods, bag lunches, and dish food portions on trays. Set up trays with condiments and makes supplemental food orders. Assures foods are served hot/cold as need requires. Washes pots, pans, dishes, and utensils. Keeps food service area clean by scrubbing tables and floors as needed. Will be expected to perform a variety of duties for the department as needed. Must be able to lift and carry trays not in excess of 50 pounds. Must be able to read, write, and follow instructions. Must have some knowledge of food preparation and kitchen sanitation. Must be able to work varied shifts, weekends, and holidays. Experience in residential food service work, food consistencies, and diet requirements are preferred.
