The shift has resulted in bigger presence in mid-caps compared to its earlier large-cap tilt. The portfolio has also grown from less than 40 stocks to more than 60 now. However, it still retains large positions in its top bets. The fund’s track record prior to the shift was solid. However, the change in mandate has put the fund on a different wicket. While presence of a skilled, veteran fund manager provides comfort, the fund needs to prove capabilities under new mandate.
