RN STAFF - PRN

Blount Memorial Hospital - Maryville, TN - JOB SUMMARY Actively provides for patient care based upon the professional practice standards and the nursing process. Is actively involved with maintaining the standard of care for assigned patients through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Oversees and guides team members under his or her supervision. Provides comprehensive nursing care to patients during the immediate pre-operative and intra-operative phases of their surgical care. Position may require call shifts with a response time of 30 minutes. JOB SPECIFICATIONS Education and/or experience: BSN degree is preferred. Prefer 2 years nursing experience, preferably in the field of Operating Room nursing. Requires current registered nurse licensure in the State of Tennessee. Require BLS. CNOR is preferred. Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of aseptic surgical technique and infection control practice. Knowledge of the information and techniques necessary to perform in various surgical specialties. Skills: Computer skills to assess, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems. Require critical thinking/reasoning while intervening during critical and non-critical situations. Must have strong customer service skills.
