The , seeks a qualified Head Nurse (PCN: 75143) to work in our Outpatient Clinical Operations Team C. The position is a full time, 35 hour per week, first shift role. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. CMHC is located at 34 Park Street in New Haven. IN THIS ROLE YOU'LL DISCOVER THE OPPORTUNITY TO: Participate in the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of comprehensive client treatment and health care plans Collaborate with team physicians and prescribers to schedule and organize routine and urgent psychiatric assessments Conduct initial and ongoing nursing assessments Administer medications as ordered by a prescribing psychiatrist or APRN Work with other Behavioral Health Home staff to plan and implement center-wide health promotion activities designed to educate both agency staff and clients Ensures compliance with Joint Commission and Medicare standards of nursing practice When it opened in 1966, CMHC was part of a new vision: to treat people with mental illness in their communities, to provide a place for researchers from many fields to find new treatments, and to teach professionals in the care of mental illness. PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK) In a state agency this class is accountable for administrative and clinical supervision of professional nurses, paraprofessionals and other staff involving direct nursing care of patients/individuals or performing specialized professional nursing work in the areas of community or therapeutic nursing. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SPECIAL EXPERIENCE One (1) year of the General Experience must have been working with the type of patients and/or individuals serviced by the agency. Note: The Special Experience is not required for the Department of Developmental Services. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED A Bachelor's degree in Nursing may be substituted for one (1) year of the General Experience. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Incumbents in this class must possess and retain a license or temporary permit as a Registered Professional Nurse in Connecticut.
