The Finology office was designed in an unconventional manner, reveals CEO Pranjal Kamra, with bean bags and coffee tables. The advantage of this setup is that work from home didn’t seem too radical when they made the switch. “Even at the office, I liked to keep it flexible by switching my position every hour. It’s the same at home where I don’t have a dedicated desk. I sometimes find myself working from my balcony and sometimes from the terrace,” he says.A time to learnIronically enough, he says, remote working at his Raipur home has helped him get to know his team better. “I feel you get to know a lot about your team, as in who works sincerely without supervision and who is the odd one out,” Kamra says.Amid the challenges posed by the situation, he’s also learnt more about the internal procedures, workflows and processes, and how they can be more streamlined. “Working from home exposes the weaknesses in your processes. But we have realised the value of an experienced and trained team. It would have been impossible to function smoothly without one,” he adds.Holiday beckonsOnce they get out of this situation, Kamra and Co will have something to look forward to: “Our company’s annual trip is in a few months. It’s Goa this year, so I’m really excited about that.”When he’s not at work, Kamra’s been reconnecting with old friends in his free time. Also keeping him busy are household chores. He specifically mentions learning how to wash clothes. “I washed clothes at home for a few days during the lockdown. This happened after many, many years. It made me realise the value of things that we take for granted. Also, the fact that so many people are involved in their own way to make sure that you lead a comfortable life,” Kamra adds.73297564
