Senior Full Stack Developer - React/Java

New York City, NY - Your Key Responsibilities: o Work as part of a delivery team, collaborating with others to understand requirements, analyze and refine stories, design solutions, implement them, test them and support them in production o Design and develop excellent, ergonomic and understandable user interfaces. Work closely with users to gain feedback and ensure they are fit for purpose. o Use BDD techniques, collaborating closely with users, analysts, developers and other testers. Make sure we are building the right thing. o Write code and write it well. Be proud to call yourself a programmer. Use test driven development, write clean code and refactor constantly. Make sure we are building the thing right. o Define and evolve the architecture of the components you are working on. Contribute to architectural decisions at a department and bank-wide level. o Ensure that the software you build is reliable and easy to support in production. Be prepared to take your turn on call providing 3rd line support when it’s needed o Help your team can build, test and release software with the short lead times and a minimum of waste. Work to develop and maintain a highly automated Continuous Delivery pipeline. Your Skills and Experience: o Extensive demonstrated hands on experience using Java or JavaScript and experience designing, developing, and maintaining complex applications and database experience (SQL Server and/or Oracle) o Hands on experience of React JS, node js, JavaScript, Web 2.0 and solid understanding of Object Oriented Principles o A background in creating high-quality web-based user interfaces. An understanding of how to ensure these interfaces are easy to navigate, linkable, responsive and accessible. o Practical experience of test driven development and constant refactoring in continuous integration environment o Extensive HTML, CSS, Web Service (REST), JUnit (or Selenium) experience o Practical experience with Build Tools (preferably Maven), Source Code Control (preferably Git), Continuous Integration (Jenkins or TeamCity) and Cloud/ Docker/Kubernetes based application deployment. o Good to have skills – Kafka, ElasticSearch/Solr search and Kibana knowledge.
