Big Four gear up for post-Covid action, offer promotions | Economic Times
The Big Four professional services firms are promoting more executives into senior roles this year than any year at least in a decade, as they beef up new practice areas where they expect a surge in business in a post-Covid economy.EY, Deloitte, KPMG and PwC have promoted, or are in the process of promoting, more than 100 into partner roles. They have also elevated hundreds into executive directors and directors, as well as made many lateral hirings into these roles, with a focus on building strengths in new and emerging areas like cloud, cybersecurity, digital and analytics.On Friday, local market leader EY and its member firms announced 43 promotions to partnerships in the India region, while PwC promoted 129 into directors. PwC is also expected to elevate 35-40 into partner and executive director positions on July 1.Global leader Deloitte promoted 27 as partners on April 1 and another 175-plus as executive directors and directors on June 1. These were among more than 2,500 people it has promoted across levels so far this fiscal year.KPMG has completed its partner promotions process and announcements are due shortly. A spokesperson said the number of promotions would likely be more than past years, driven by “strong growth and ambitious future plans”.
