LPN ASSISTED LIVING

Blount Memorial Hospital - Maryville, TN - JOB SUMMARY Vocational nurse who may give direct care to the residents under the direction of a professional registered nurse and/or the medical director who is a licensed Physician. Responsible for a variety of tasks, including resident care. Duties include, but are not limited to providing resident assistance with ADL's, documentation in resident record and administration of medication and treatment when needed. Taking instruction from physician and completing transfer forms. JOB SPECIFICATIONS Education and/or experience: Graduate from an accredited school of vocational training with current licensure by Tennessee State board of nursing. Previous experience in hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred. Knowledge: Knowledge of senior citizens and working with individuals who have Alzheimer’s and dementia preferred. Skills: Requires multi tasking skills, active listening, social perceptiveness, creativity, and flexibility. Skilled at building a rapport with staff, residents and family members. Must be able to make judgments on resident care, decide when to call family and doctor, determine whether level of care for a resident is beyond the scope of staff and facility and then act appropriately. Abilities: Patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult situations and make independent decisions. Must be willing to be a part of a team.
