Are you interested in being a Team Lead for a dynamic team? We are seeking a Team Lead, R&D Science and Engineering in the Product Transition team for Center 5400 Quality Operations. The Team Lead will be responsible for the Center 5400 Quality and Configuration Management Technologists assigned to a wide variety of different programs and Center 5400 initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for: * Supporting the projects in Center 5400 with execution of its deliverables within the Quality Management System (QMS) framework, ISO 9001/AS9100, and customer requirements * Managing the personnel who conduct the daily Quality Operations (QualOps) and Configuration Management (CM) of Center 5400 and its programs * Coordinating QualOps build activities across multiple programs to meet different Program schedules and deliverables * Engaging Quality Engineers and Systems Engineers to drive improvements to the Center 5400 Quality program and Configuration Management program Qualifications We Require * Bachelor's and Master's degree in a relevant STEM discipline plus 5 years' experience; or a PhD in a relevant STEM discipline plus 3 years experience; or a bachelor's in a relevant STEM discipline plus 9 or more years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education or experience * Prior leadership experience in a technical role * Active DOE L security clearance or DOD equivalent and the able to obtain a DOE Q level security clearance Qualifications We Desire * The ability to understand the work done in Integrated Military Systems and in the Hypersonics Programs to judge quality, assess issues, and, when needed put forth technical (or engineered) solutions to improve performance * Prior experience with Quality and Configuration Management * Prior experience working in a fast-paced production environment * Prior experience as a team lead or manager * Experience with product realization processes and process development * Demonstrated ability to successfully manage and complete multiple programs and projects * Demonstrated ability to team with others to produce successful outcomes * Excellent oral and written communication skills and customer service skills * Willingness to actively participate in Lean Six Sigma program and Green Belt certification training * A commitment to a culture of safety and security * Taken or enrolled in Sandia's Pre-Management Curriculum including LDR021 * Active DOE Q level security clearance About Our Team The Product Transition Department, 5478, provides Industry Partner support, Quality, and Configuration Management for the Hypersonic Programs in the Strike Systems group within the Integrated Military Systems Program at Sandia. 5478 coordinates the development of Mechanical, Electrical, and Avionics flight technologies to be integrated and tested with industry partner support to provide flight solutions for missiles and hypersonic flight platforms. Typically, these systems support the DOD including Army, Navy, Air Force, and other Agencies. 5400 has successfully developed hypersonic systems for the nation and is extending our role on the national stage for both developmental and fieldable systems. Our programs cover a broad spectrum of applications; from advanced aerodynamically controlled vehicles, maneuvering hypersonic kill vehicles, and ballistic missile systems. All the activities require the extensive use of commonly developed Sandia avionics as well as prototype next generation technology that has never been flown. Levering existing technologies and maturing the Hypersonics portfolio for national needs is a demanding task and is a key component of Exceptional Service in the National Interest.
