Position Overview The Director Product Management, T-Detect Autoimmune Diseases role offers a unique opportunity to join a growth-stage biotechnology company as it endeavors to build awareness, knowledge & adoption of the pioneering T-Detect Assay, a novel next-generation sequencing (NGS) assay, aided by machine learning, to identify T-cell signatures to diagnose a variety of diseases. The Director Product Management, T-Detect Autoimmune Diseases will lead product management and product development (commercial) to develop new assays to help diagnose a variety of autoimmune diseases. This individual will own the autoimmune disease product roadmap strategy, the development of commercial product strategies / requirements in collaboration with the cross functional product team, translate those strategies into actionable projects and plans, and lead end-to-end execution. This individual will eventually lead a Senior Product Manager of Autoimmune Diseases. To excel in this role, a candidate must be able to artfully balance strategic thinking with tactical planning and execution, effectively leveraging and pairing customer / market insights against competitive dynamics and optimal prioritization of internal resources. A successful candidate will combine strong foundational knowledge of various segments of the life sciences industry (pharmaceuticals, devices, genomics, healthcare services and delivery, and regulatory) with strong analytical ability, refined communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and highly collaborative environment. Responsibilities Lead Product Development / Life Cycle Management of the T-Detect assay in the autoimmune disease space including assessing the commercial, customer, channel, and competitive strategies, while shaping product development priorities Lead the key opinion leader discussions and represent the voice of customer / requirements for T-Detect product development Serve as a member of T-Detect product core team for autoimmune disease applications including the collaboration with colleagues to drive project milestones and key timelines Work collaboratively across functions to coordinate T-Detect product development and lifecycle management across R&D, diagnostics, regulatory, and the computational biology team Lead Product Management efforts in close collaboration and coordination with marketing, sales and scientific teams. Contribute to performance tracking/monitoring of product performance, product development milestones, launch activities Accomplish business objectives by managing all projects and/or external vendors within specified budget and timeline Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant market dynamics and competitive developments Requirements Bachelor’s degree (scientific, technical, business) required. Master’s degree or PhD desired 8+ years of professional experience in the healthcare industry (e.g., pharma, biotech, device, or diagnostics) in commercial / product management / strategic marketing / lifecycle management / development 3+ years of experience in diagnostics and autoimmune diseases 2+ years of managing teams in relevant industry/field Familiarity with regulatory guidance relevant to drug, device and/or clinical diagnostic product promotion Experience and aptitude in collaborating on smaller teams in high-paced, cross-functional environments Maturity and good judgment to understand when to exercise initiative and handle issues directly, and when to escalate issue needing broader consideration and prioritization Excellent listening, oral, presentation and written communication skills An excellent team player – highly effective in working with others but also capable of working independently as necessary Strong strategic and critical thinking skills Ability to multi-task with a strong attention to detail High level of proficiency in MS Office PowerPoint, Excel, and Word Preferred Master’s degree or PhD (MBA, Life Sciences, Technology) Genomic testing market experience Adaptive Biotechnologies is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
