Cleveland, OH - SUMMARY The successful candidate in the Help Desk Technician role provides technical assistance and support to the company and its clients. The technician troubleshoots and takes corrective action to resolve IT issues including hardware, software, printing, email, operating systems, network, telecom, and other related issues via telephone, email, chat, and in person. The technician identifies root cause of issues and provides guidance to end users as well as coordinates with other IT functional areas to resolve problems. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Responds to requests for technicaldesktop support either on the phone, email, or in person Researches, analyzes, troubleshoots, and resolves desktop, printers, network and software problems Researches and evaluates new technologies, and keeps current regarding new hardwaresoftware products for system enhancements Maintains confidentiality with regards to the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS 1-3 years of experience in computer operations, help desk or desktop support areas doing similar work as duties outlined above Knowledge of current Windows desktop operating systems Knowledge of Microsoft desktop applications, Microsoft developer tools, Antivirus, remote connection technologies and PC troubleshooting skills regarding hardware and software Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and solve problems as well as document all steps taken for resolution including use of an internal 3rd party ticketing system Communicate effectively in both oral and written form and explain technical concepts in non-technical terms Prioritize requests, organize, schedule, and coordinate a variety of activities and projects Ability to learn new software and hardware packages and adapt to changes in technology Must be a team player with a positive attitude, show initiative, work with a sense of urgency, and be self-motivated ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS Understanding and familiarity with published IT policies and procedures Experience working in a technical support environment Ability to diagnose and accurately report networking problems A+, Network+, MTA, MCSA certifications are desirable Reliable transportation and valid driverrsquos license WORKING CONDITIONS May require evening and weekend work... - Permanent - Full-time
