Fort Bragg, NC - Global Technical Services, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Tier II IP Baseband Network Technician on our Ft. Bragg RHN contract in Ft. Bragg, NC. ESSENTIAL DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position, and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned. Configure router interfacesswitch ports, and tunnels to communicate across various networking protocols within command line interface Configure Access Lists in routers, and add and remove Units from firewalls. Have a strong understanding of how rules are applied in Firewalls. Use Strong analytical skills with the ability to examine routerswitch, call managers, and firewall configurations for proper or improper configuration statements Configure network equipment to specifications by referring to mission configuration parameters analyzing security requirements while performing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols. Configure network monitoring tools such as Orion across various interfaces and protocols. Evaluate network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, and latency. Plan and execute testing and troubleshooting of equipment. Comply with defined security network policies and procedures. Monitor network performance by observing network monitoring and analysis, and perform tuning troubleshooting of network problems escalating problems to Tier III. Meticulously record all troubleshooting activity on Incident Management Report (IMR) during troubleshooting processes. Support end users by assisting Tier I Techs providing troubleshooting and issue resolution assistance in helpful responsive manner. Ensure customer satisfaction through the resolution of all issues and problems reported Ability to protect organizationrsquos value by keeping information confidential Configure Cisco Call Managers. Have knowledge of how to load cryptographic keying material into TACLANEs and KIV-7Ms, and configure the equipment. Perform other duties assigned by Site Manager. QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty. Required (Minimum) Qualifications Associates Degree in Information Technology or technical discipline Six (6) yearsrsquo network configuration and management experience or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or workmilitary experience ACTIVE Secret Security Clearance CompTIA Security + CISCO CCNA certificated Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Experience with data communications equipment and hardwaresoftware, including routers, switches and firewalls, CISCO CUCM -Call Manager, and Cryptographic devices. Experience with Virtual Machine (ESX) and Virtual routing preferred. Experience with VoIP systems Experience and skilled in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of tools used for documentation creation and management, specifically using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook. Level of knowledge should be commensurate with position you are applying to fill. Experience with interfacing and troubleshooting with an Enterprise network Possess competent knowledge and or experience working with or utilizing one or more of these operating systems LINUX, Windows, AIX, and UNIX. Experience with Military Satellite communications systems a plus. Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES No supervisory responsibilities. ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base.
