Haryana government to come up with a policy to convert big plots into multiple small ones | Economic Times

NEW DELHI: Haryana government has finalised the policy to divide big plots into multiple small ones and proposal will be put up in next cabinet meeting, the chief minister said.A provision is being made that the area of proposed plot for partition or division should not be less than 200 square yards, that is, a divided part should be of at least 100 Sq Yards. The announcement was made by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar while presiding over the meeting of District Public Relations and Grievances Committee in Gurugram on Saturday. In the meeting, a complaint came for hearing in which it was stated that a town planning scheme was made in the state in the year 1966-67, in which plots of different sizes were sold and those plots can not be further divided. If it is divided, the building plan would not be approved by the Municipal Corporation or Committee. “Two complainants from Shivaji Nagar in Gurugram raised the issue before the CM, in which they contended that their grandfather had built a house on the 153 Sq Yards plot in 1971, which was later transferred to them. Since the house was old, when they divided it into two parts, their building plan was not approved by the Municipal Corporation Gurugram (MCG) citing that old rule,” a statement by Haryana government reads. While resolving this problem, the Chief Minister said that for such cases, the state government has almost formulated the policy, proposal of which will be placed in the next cabinet meeting. The Chief Minister, while resolving another complaint regarding illegal continuation of construction work in the New Colony of Gurugram, after being sealed by the Municipal Corporation, ordered an FIR in such matters and said that the illegal construction which has been done in violation of the rules should be removed as per the demolition order of the Municipal Corporation. In the meeting, the Chief Minister ordered the district administration to solve the problem of getting registration of sale deeds of the plots booked in residential colony being developed by Vatika in Sector-83 Gurugram.
