We are currently hiring a Principal Specialist Data Analytics to support our Business Intelligence team. This position can be based remotely within the US. Application Closing Date: 9/25/2020 The Principal Specialist (Business Intelligence) supports the Manager (Business Intelligence) in the project and change management of both new client implementations and existing transformation projects. The Principal Specialist (Business Intelligence) is primarily responsible for the technical design, build and deployment aspects of each project from a BI workstream perspective. The purpose is to aggregate and transforming datasets into meaningful information and usable reporting suites based on SLA’s, business rules and stakeholder requirements. In addition, the Principal Specialist (Business Intelligence) will be responsible for Consulting projects from a technical delivery and/or diagnostic perspective, The Principal will bring their deep subject matter expertise and experience to bear by taking a key contributory position in defining and delivering a wide range of projects from small discreet consultancy propositions to large scale and complex projects or consulting assignments within AMS – with a data, insights and analytical perspective. Key Accountabilities Financial & Operational Excellence Responsible for supporting the development of reports for clients and internal customers based on project and business requirements (timelines, budgets and milestone deliverables) Represent BI on I&T Project Review Board calls – attend scheduled project meetings / calls, identify BI team actions and deliverables; ensure all delivery targets are met and any issues which may impact delivery are highlighted to BI Manager. Build relationship with internal and external stakeholders; work with the project work-stream leads (particularly process and technology) to help identify and manage the requirements, dependencies and hand offs in their areas that impact successful delivery of BI solution; help build the BI team profile (internally) and AMS profile (externally) as subject matter experts on Business Intelligence and Analytics. BI Documentation and Training – ensure that all relevant documentation to support BAU after “Go Live” is developed and signed off during the project lifecycle; assist BI Manager in training all relevant teams on reporting as well as their roles in producing accurate and meaningful data. Work with the Resourcing Technology team to program specific reporting requirements in various models Support new Business Intelligence initiatives, conducting analysis, design, build/ programming, test, training, documentation and change control processes Provide advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders in terms of the technical feasibility of reporting requirements Develop a detailed understanding of AMS business processes, and be able to translate this understanding into technical specifications Actively contribute to the Discovery phase of any project, and subsequently design and build all required reporting requirements in line with the technology capabilities Responsible for ensuring that reports are designed and delivered on time and accurately Act as the primary technical escalation point for Administrators/Coordinators and Specialists Act on behalf of the Specialist (Business Intelligence) or Manager (Business Intelligence) in their absence Escalate any issues or more complex reporting questions to Manager (Business Intelligence) Build a thorough understanding of the recruitment technology data model in order to be able to define what reports are feasible and advise those within the project and client services Desirable knowledge of recruitment delivery tools – Applicant Tracking Systems, and/or Vendor Management Systems ideally Workday, Avature, SmartRecruiters, Taleo, PeopleFluent, iGrasp, Fieldglass, Talentlink, or similar Strong knowledge and use of MS Excel (VBA, PowerQuerey) and PowerPoint PowerBI, Tableau and/or Microsoft Azure knowledge highly desirable Position Requirements Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge Demonstrable experience of VBA skills, 5 + years Demonstrable experience of carrying out data analysis Experience of building reports using macros both in excel and access Strong working knowledge of all Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Experience of using human resource and recruitment technology databases and workflows Experience using Business Objects or any other similar reporting tool Experience working within a recruitment environment Experience responding to customers over the telephone Work to understand the end user processing and management reporting user requirements Manage all data/ system issues to meet client requirements Responsible for ensuring that all reports are delivered on time and accurately Continually asking questions on how to improve reporting code Consider new templates and processes which will increase efficiency of function and quality of results Clearly advise the Client Services team around the processing and reporting functionality Advise the Administrators/Coordinators (Business Intelligence) of any requirements in terms of basic analysis, storage and retrieval of information Develop the reports and systems demonstrating respect for the integrity of all data Ensures the detail within all Business Intelligence documents generated or processes undertaken is accurate Deep interest for code structure and developing solutions Demonstrates a high level of energy and proactivity when interacting with all stakeholder groups Identifies potential problems and acts escalates these where appropriate Identifies opportunities for improvement and shares these during team meetings Provide local user support and training to new members of staff Help those working in the Client Services to understand the full functionality of the BI reports and technology Determine the best way to interpret and present different types of information Consider how to tailor reporting to suite different audiences Building a sound understanding of the client’s business environment Understand how reporting supports business decisions Make decisions regarding reports to produce for internal and external stakeholders Understand vision of the BI function and the service offered internally and externally Understand their requirements in relation to contractual Client reporting requirements, and required reporting suite Work with Administrators / Coordinators (Business Intelligence) to build and automate existing and new reports Provide third parties with information around the recruitment systems or Business Intelligence requirements Answer any queries and ensure all clients are provided with necessary assistance and any issues are escalated appropriately We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a veteran, and basis of disability or any other federal, state or local protected class.... - Permanent - Full-time
