Blount Memorial Hospital - Maryville, TN - JOB SUMMARY Provides nursing care of assigned patients under the supervision of a registered nurse. Provides nursing services to patients and families in accordance with the scope of the LPN as defined by the Tennessee Board of Nursing. JOB SPECIFICATIONS Education and/or experience: Current Licensure to practice from State of Tennessee. Competent in BLS. Must be competent in IV therapy validated by examination and clinical competency. A minimum of 2 years acute care or long term care experience preferred. Knowledge: Knowledge of scope of the license practical nurse. Knowledge of infection control procedures, safety precautions, techniques involved in administering routine medications and/or treatments to patients. Skills: Excellent Customer service, Active Listening, Computer skills and the ability to function comfortably with electronic technology is required. Abilities: Ability to communicate clearly with patients, families, visitors, healthcare team, physicians, administrators, leadership and others. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to work collaboratively. Ability to teach patients and families in accordance with the nursing care plan. Ability to use sensory and cognitive functions to process and prioritize information, treatment and follow-up. Able to record activities and document interventions. Ability to use computer and learn new software programs. Ability to communicate pertinent information using computer and/or paper documentation tools. Ability to work independently in a virtual office environment.
