Unicef - Katwa, West Bengal - Contexte: Depuis le mois d'Aout 2018, il a été déclaré une épidémie Ebola à l'Est du pays. L'épidémie qui est apparue initialement à Beni, dans la zone de sante de Mabalako et s'est étendue depuis lors à 16 zones de santé. 500 cas ont été reportés dont 452 confirmés, 240 décès ont été enregistrés, alors que 6.321 personnes sont toujours sous surveillance. Cette épidémie est la toute première qui sévit à l'Est du pays entrainant de ce fait un grand besoin de sensibilisation/mobilisation communautaire pour diffuser la bonne information sur les risques existants et éveiller la mobilisation communautaire pour promouvoir des bonnes pratiques tant en matière d'eau hygiène et assainissement, protection de l'enfant, soins de santé primaires, que dans tous les domaines pouvant aider à arrêter la propagation du virus.
