EMPLOYMENT SECURITY DEPT - Pasco, WA - H2A jobs are posted to actively recruit qualified, availableworkers that are currently eligible to work in the United States, per federal regulations. Job requires extensive sitting, exposure to extreme, Temperatures, repetitive movements, extensive pushing and pulling and frequent stooping. Musthave ability to safely handle a 12-foot orchardladder. Cleanup. May assist with planting, thinning, pruning, and harvesting of cherries. Apple Harvest: The worker will hand harvest apples. This can be performed from a motorized platform and/or from the ground or 10 ft – 12 ft ladder. Grape Harvest: Workers will hand and/or machine harvest wine grapes. Thinning: is a Manual process using an orchard ladder and/or scissor like clippers. Job Requirements 3 months ofverifiable tree fruit farmwork experience Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. Must anticipate being available to work the entire contract period Salary/Wage/Benefits Hourly wage is $16.34per hour. The prevailing practice for harvest work is to compensate workers on a piece rate basis. However, no worker will be paid less than $16.34 per hour averaged over the pay period. Minimum piece rates are as follow: Pruning/Thinning: $0.2 piece rate -Pruning Piece: Low $0.02; High $6.00 hr., Thinning: Low $0.03, High $9.00 hour. Training: Low $0.03. High $4.25 hour, $02 - $9.00/hr. per apple tree depending on size of tree. $0.2-$25 high density 900 plus trees/acre 0-2 years old; $0 - $25 high density, 900 plus trees/acre 2-3 year old: $1.00-$3.50 med density, 300-450 trees/acre 4-7 years old: $$3.50-$9.00 Med Low density, multiple leaders 99-250 trees/acre 12-100 years old. Tree Training: $.03 piece rate - $0.3 - $4.25 for training activity Apple Harvesting: $.24 piece rate 47 x 47.5 bin size, all cultivations ranging from $24.00-$29.00 per bin. Fuji $27.00 per bin (47-inch x 47-inch x 24 ½ inch) Gala $27.00 per bin (47-inch x 47-inch x 24 ½ inch) Pink Lady $29.00 per bin (47-inch x 47-inch x 24 ½ inch) Honeycrisp $29.00 per bin (47-inch x 47-inch x 24 ½ inch) Smitten $24.50.00 per bin (47-inch x 47-inch x 24 ½ inch) All cultivations for all density. The pay period is weekly. The employer will furnish, without charge, all tools, supplies and personal protective equipment required in the performance of the specified work. Employer provided housing/kitchen facilities are available for employees who are unable to reasonably return to their place of residence the same day. Transportation costs to the job site for domestic workers from outside the local commuting distance of the job site will be reimbursed by the employer after 50% of the contract period. Transportation costs from the job site to the workers home will be provided to those domestic workers that complete the entire contract period. Employer guarantees to offer employment for the hourly equivalent of 3/4 or 75% of the workdays of the work contract beginning with the first day of work.
