TOWN OF FREETOWN - Assonet, MA - TOWN OF FREETOWN NOTICE OF VACANCY Notice is hereby given that the Freetown Conservation Commission is seeking applications for the position of part-time Senior Clerk. The Senior Clerk is responsible for preparing meeting minutes and agendas, receiving applications, scheduling hearings, organizing site inspections, preparing state forms, and other routine office tasks. Attendance at evening meetings is required. This position is covered by the union collective bargaining agreement and is currently scheduled for 10 hours per week. Starting pay is $17.30 per hour. The Town of Freetown is a pastoral community in Bristol County with a small summer colony and a maritime history. The town's early economy was based mostly on agriculture, but the water power of the Assonet River eventually brought grist, saw and fulling mills after 1695 and in the 18th century the town's industries included a tannery.
