Scheduling Specialist

St. Joseph's Candler - Savannah, GA - Duties: The Scheduling Specialist will receive requests for procedures, coordinate the exam times per protocol with convenience considered for the patients and departments. •Collect and validate high quality Patient Demographics, Guarantor Insurance info, Authorizations, Resource availability, CPT, HCPCS, ICD-9 codes . Practice phone etiquette and develop a relationship with various physician offices. Maintains open communications and is available to component organizations and practitioner sites for consultation. Requirements: A High School Diploma is required. Vocational training or college course work preferred. A minimum of 2-3 years medical office terminology is required. A minimum of 1-2 years EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and RIS (Radiology Information Systems.) is preferred. A minimum of 1-2 years experience able to demonstrated ability to work under stress. Ability to follow written protocol/procedures/policies is required. Able to demonstrated exceptional service in person and over the phone; think critically, multi-task and work is required. Medical Assistant/Secretary, Unit Secretary, Surgical Technician, Imaging Support Specialist or Imaging Scheduler preferred. A Professional Certification is preferred.... - Permanent - Full-time
