It didn't go too well for one of South India's most-popular actresses, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, after she filed defamation cases against a couple of YouTube channels and an individual for streaming malignant content about her on social media on Wednesday. In a legal blow, the Kukatpally court in Hyderabad on Friday slammed the actress for filing defamation cases. The court schooled the 34-year-old, and indicated that celebrities share personal details on public domain and then file defamation suits. It also said that Prabhu, who announced her separation from actor Naga Chaitanya earlier this month, could've simply sought an apology from her opponents instead.According to a TOI report, the court said, "The actress can seek a word of apology from the content owners of the concerned YouTube channels, individuals and media outlets, rather than filing defamation cases on them."Comments such as these were reportedly made after the actress' lawyer requested the court to hear her plea on an urgent basis. As per reports by TOI, the additional district judge was annoyed over the request, and said the plea will be heard at an appropriate time."In court, everyone is equal before the law. There is no sense of some being high and others being low. We will hear Samantha's case as per the procedure," the court concluded.Prabhu had invited unwanted comments and speculation about her relationship with her former husband, and some channels even linked her with random colleagues. The lawsuits were filed against Suman TV, Telugu Popular TV, and a few more for streaming malignant content about her. She has also reportedly filed a legal notice against an advocate named Venkat Rao, who had allegedly spoken about her marital life and had alleged that she had affairs.ChaySam, lovingly called by the couple's fans, took to their respective social media handles to share a joint statement, as they asked for privacy and support during difficult times.
