Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the nation's health workers and volunteers for achieving the 1-billion-vaccine milestone on the 82nd edition of his monthly radio programme 'Mann Ki Baat' today."Namaskar…namaskar a billion times! And I am saying ‘koti-koti namaskar’ also since after crossing the 100 crore vaccine doses, the country is surging ahead with a new zeal," the Prime Minister said.Here's what the PM said...On India's vaccination drive: I knew that our healthcare workers would leave no stone unturned to vaccinate the countrymen. Our health workers have set a new example with their tireless hard work and determination.The government of Uttarakhand also rightfully deserves accolades since it’s a remote area with difficult terrain. Similarly, Himachal too has completed the task of cent-percent doses amid such difficulties.On National Unity Day: We celebrate the 31st of October as National Unity Day. It is our duty that we must associate ourselves with some activity that conveys the message of national unity.'Ekta' is the way forward for an individual's & nation's progress. I urge my fellow countrymen to keep Sardar Sahab's thoughts alive by bringing unity in the society.Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the Union ministry of culture will host a national-level competition on rangoli, lullabies and songs that connect India.During the freedom struggle, patriotic and devotional songs composed in different languages had united the entire country. Today, with this, youth can further instill such energy into Amrit Mahotsav celebrations. When a rangoli related to the freedom movement will be made, people will draw a picture of a freedom voter at their door, on the wall, show any event of independence with colors, then, the color of the Amrit festival will also increase.On United Nations Day: India's women played a big role in enhancing influence and power of the United Nations.India has always strove for world peace. We are proud of the fact that India has been a part of UN peacekeeping missions continuously since the 1950s."Mann ki Baat" is the Prime Minister's monthly radio address, which is broadcast on the last Sunday of every month however, this time the programme it is being broadcast on the second last Sunday of the month.In his last Mann Ki Baat, underlining the importance of rainwater harvesting in Indian culture, PM Modi compared the traditional festivals of Jal-Jeelani Ekadashi and Chhatt with the National Water Mission's (NWM) campaign "Catch The Rain".
