The Core Transportation Technology (CTT) team at amazon innovates, builds and maintains the technology required to enable logistics service providers both internal and external to be able to integrate with Amazon tech systems - enabling them to pick-up, transport and deliver shipments to our customers. The CTT Programs team manages prioritization and delivery of technical programs for Core Transportation Tech (e.g. setting up logistics technology systems for launching new countries for Amazon, new logistics carriers in existing and new countries, new logistics services in new and existing carriers etc). This teams direct internal customers are the business teams and operations teams across geographies who need transportation tech capabilities. The team is looking for a seasoned manager to lead a team of program managers and achieve the following objectives. 1. Understanding Amazon's priorities across worldwide businesses, 2. Translating these business priorities to technical requirements, 3. Conducting annual planning exercises to arrive at head count and capacity requirements across tech capabilities 4. Aligning quarterly roadmaps across worldwide stakeholders (planning additional hiring or moving headcount across teams or reprioritizing projects to fit the headcount budget), 5. Monthly bandwidth planning across projects and communication with stakeholders globally, 6. Process improvement so that we are able to reduce our time to market to launch new capabilities for our customers globally. In this role, you will work with business and operations team to continuously evolve forecasting models, analyze historic results, and make business recommendations to senior management based on those analyses - all in an environment of rapid growth and increasing complexity. You will drive improvements to the reporting tools, methods, and processes utilized by the team to increase the availability and granularity of actionable data to internal and external partners. The successful candidate must have very strong analytical skills and expertise in excel. She/he will be passionate about their work, detail-oriented, analytical, and have excellent problem-solving abilities. She/he will be experienced at working with large data sets. She/he will have superb communication and customer-relationship skills, outstanding analytic insight, and be a passionate advocate of the team and processes to other stakeholders. She/he will drive towards simple, scalable solutions to difficult problems, have excellent project-management skills, and be able to communicate complex analytical results, both written and verbally, in a clear and easy-to-understand way. Basic Qualifications 6+ yrs work experience with at least 2 yrs of experience in Program management. Has a background in quantitative decision making, ability to drive business/operations metrics, and driving adoption of different tools, new processes and resources. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create compelling positioning / messaging strategy and present complex information clearly and concisely. High attention to detail and proven ability to manage large teams, manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously with minimal supervision. Strong analytical, mediation and problem resolution skills. Has managed critical operational processes, with end to end business responsibility. Demonstrated leadership with a bias towards action, supporting a culture of ownership and learning. Managing competing priorities, time management and meeting tight deadlines at times. Skilled in collaborative management environment, succeeding through regular meetings and clear formal and informal communication with members of the remote and local management teams. Technical aptitude and agility to learn web-based tools. Expert proficiency in Excel/MS office tools. Strong understanding of process improvement techniques.
